Azerbaijani embassies hold January 20 commemoration ceremonies

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani embassy in Turkey is planning series of events dedicated to the anniversary of January 20 tragedy. TRT news programs will broadcast reports and documentaries about the tragedy, press service of the embassy told APA. The embassy officials will attend the TRT Avaz morning programs, publish different articles in Turkish newspapers, issue press releases for Turkish foreign ministry and embassies accredited in Turkey. Azerbaijani students studying in Ankara and other regions of Turkey are also planning relevant programs dedicated to January 20. Ankara mosques will pray for the tragedy victims.

Today Azerbaijani embassy in Kyrgyzstan sent January 20 press release to the parliament of this country, foreign ministry, embassies and other diplomatic missions accredited in Kyrgyzstan, as well as Diplomatic Academy of the Kyrgyz foreign ministry. Azerbaijani students in Kyrgyzstan, representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora held a commemoration ceremony at the embassy. The participants of the event spoke about the bloodshed by soviet regime and its leadership against the peaceful demonstration against the Armenian aggressive policy. Turkustan student organizations, Kyrgyz-Azerbaijan Youth Union will hold commemoration ceremony at the Manas University on Tuesady.

Azerbaijani embassy in Kuwait also organized commemoration ceremony on 20th anniversary of January 20 events. Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev told journalists that Azerbaijan has established friendly and working relations with many countries since achieving its independence, APA reports quoting the Kuwaiti newspapers. The ambassador condemned the acts of vandalism committed by Soviet regime during the January 20 events. Then videotape of January 20 tragedy was shown at the event.
