Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister pays working visit to Great Britain

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov paid a working visit to Great Britain on November 23-25. Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that Azimov had conducted meetings with a number of officials during the visit. Bilateral relations, regional security and transnational criminality, illicit drug traffic, mutual exchange of information, cooperation within the framework of energy and non-oil sector, as well as international organizations were discussed during the political consultations. The sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain and stressed the importance of further extension of these ties. Nogorno Karabakh conflict and the talks directed to the peaceful solution of the problem were also in the focus of attention during the meetings.

Within the framework of the visit, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov had a meeting with members of British-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Group and attended the 995th Wilton Park high-level international conference titled “The South Caucasus and Wider Black Sea Neighbourhood: Regional Developments and Prospects for Euro-Atlantic Integration”. During his speech at the conference, he stressed the significance of solution to the regional conflicts within the framework of territorial integrity of states and added that Armenia – Azerbaijan conflict threatened the security of South Caucasus and the whole Europe.

Azimov also gave an interview to Turkish TRT Turk TV Channel during the visit.
