Latvia supports Azerbaijan-involved Eastern Partnership Program, Latvian minister says

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva –APA. Latvian Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins, who is on a visit to Baku, met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on Thursday. The foreign ministers held a joint briefing after the meeting, APA reports. Mammadyarov said he held tete-a-tete and large meetings with his Latvian counterpart and discussed the economic and humanitarian bilateral relations and the regional situation as well.
Riekstins said he aimed to develop and to strengthen dialogue between the countries. He said they discussed the EU Eastern Partnership Program and Latvia also supported this program because it would assist the countries covered by the program in closer cooperation.
The Latvian guest said they were looking forward to hold Latvian-Azerbaijani business forum tomorrow and his country was interested in milk and food production, as well as information technology, transport and banking spheres in Azerbaijan. “The large delegation of Latvian business people arrived in Baku. Mammadyarov said they discussed upcoming visit of Latvian president to Azerbaijan this summer.
