The Ankara Declaration was adopted at the conclusion of the NATO Leaders' Summit held in Ankara, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
The declaration reaffirms the allies' commitment to collective defense and transatlantic unity.
The document states that NATO will strengthen its defense capabilities in response to Russia's long-term threat to Euro-Atlantic security and carry out new defense procurements worth more than $50 billion.
NATO leaders also emphasized that support for Ukraine will continue, announcing that €70 billion will be allocated in 2026 for military equipment, assistance, and training, while at least the same level of support will be maintained in 2027.
The declaration also stressed that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons and called on Tehran to respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
