Russia's State Duma has tightened the requirements for migrant workers employed in the country, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

The State Duma has adopted a law requiring foreign workers to make advance payments of personal income tax (NDFL).

The law applies to migrants working under a patent in private households, organizations, or for individual entrepreneurs, as well as for notaries and lawyers. The document will also apply to foreign citizens who are entitled to work in Russia without a patent.

Under the new rules, migrants working under a patent in private households will have to pay 1,700 rubles (AZN 37.90) per month in personal income tax (NDFL), while those working under a patent for organizations and individual entrepreneurs will pay 1,200 rubles (AZN 26.8) per month. Foreign citizens working in Russia without a patent will also be required to pay 1,700 rubles per month in tax.
