Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, Ramin Mammadov, met with Muzaffar Kamilov, Head of the Department for Religious and Educational Affairs of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, on July 7 during his visit to Tashkent to participate in the First International Islamic Civilization Forum, APA reports.
The sides highlighted that strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have been developing dynamically thanks to the political will and consistent efforts of the leaders of both countries.
They noted that cooperation between the two friendly and brotherly nations has been expanding across all areas, including religious affairs, with bilateral ties based on mutual trust and shared historical and cultural values serving as a model of cooperation.
The meeting also emphasized the significance of the First Meeting of Heads of State Bodies Responsible for Religious Affairs of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Azerbaijan's city of Shusha, as an important step toward strengthening institutional cooperation in religious affairs across the Turkic world.
The participants said the Communiqué adopted at the conclusion of the Shusha meeting had created a framework for identifying priority areas of joint cooperation.
The sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation between the relevant state institutions of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan through the sharing of experience, the implementation of joint projects, and deeper collaboration in the field of religious education and awareness.
The meeting, also attended by Chairman of Uzbekistan's Committee on Religious Affairs Sodik Toshboyev, underlined that the First International Islamic Civilization Forum makes an important contribution to promoting the rich heritage of Islamic civilization, advancing educational traditions, and strengthening intercultural dialogue.
