Vladimir Dorokhin: â€œThe concrete details on Gazpromâ€™s buying Azerbaijani gas may be agreed in Mayâ€

The ambassador said the cooperation had good prospects and noted that Azerbaijan had gas and Russia had a big gas market. He mentioned that head of Gazprom said in Baku last May that they wanted to buy Azerbaijanâ€™s gas at market prices.
â€œThe sides signed a memorandum of understanding on March 27, after Azerbaijan considered the proposal. The document says that the sides will hold talks on the volume and conditions for buying and selling gas. The sides are exchanging information now, we hope that soon, maybe in May they will determine concrete details of the cooperation,â€ he said.
The diplomat said it concerned business on what volume and conditions the agreement would be reached and added that it was not a political project. He expressed his hope that the project would be implemented on mutually effective conditions and would meet the interests of both countries.
