AKP MP comments why they don’t accept invitation to Azerbaijan

MP said representatives of the Turkey’s ruling party agreed to attend the conference at first, but then said that they wouldn’t come to Baku.

Aghamali said the conference would take place on Wednesday in Baku on the initiative of five parties represented at Milli Mejlis.

In his interview with APA Turkish bureau, Chairman of Turkish-Azerbaijani Friendship Group at the Turkey’s parliament, AKP MP from Konya Mustafa Kabakci commented on reasons why they couldn’t accept the invitation. “I always visited Baku with great pleasure. It is a part of my homeland. But for my visit to Baku, I need an invitation from the Chairman of Friendship Group at the Azerbaijani Parliament. On the other hand, AKP authorities should pass decision on my visit. Our Prime Minister and President made necessary statements. In my speech at the parliament, I also emphasized that there were no changes in the Turkey’s policy toward Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan was informed about the Turkey-Armenia talks in details”.

Turkish parliamentarians Yilmaz Atesh, Shukru Elekdag, Shahin Mengu (CHP), Attila Kaya and Turan Chirkin (MHP will visit Baku on Tuesday to attend the conference. Alongside with five parties-initiators of the conference, two other parties represented at the parliament - New Azerbaijan and Musavat were also invited to the meeting.

Leaders of Ana Vatan (Motherland), Citizen Solidarity, All Azerbaijan People’s Front, Great System and Justice parties put forward the initiative to hold the conference.
