Secret place of banned Christian religious sect members discovered in Gandja

In accordance with Interior Ministry’s plan on “Preventing radical religious trends from spreading religious extremismâ€, as a result of the operations carried out on April 9, it was discovered that the members of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Christian sect, which was not registered in the State Committee for Religious Associations, used to hold illegal meetings in the house of Gandja resident Yegana Ibrahim Gahramanova.
It was found out that 76 members of Jehovah’s Witnesses attended the meeting organized in the house in Narimanov avenue, 35. 21 of them were children, 39 women and 16 men.
Yegana Gahramanova, the owner of the house, one of the activists of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Saleddin Bilal Mammadov, 45, head of the community, Samir Asif Huseynov, 25, resident of Goranboy region, who had been imprisoned for evading from the military service and Rashad Huseyn Miftaliyev, 22, Gandja resident received administrative punishment.
The others, who attended the meeting, were warned.
