Viktor Yushchenko: â€œWe know very well how important it is to protect the countryâ€™s territorial integrityâ€

Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. â€œTeaching of Ukraineâ€™s history, language and culture at the university in Azerbaijan is very important for us.â€ Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who is paying official visit to Baku, said at the meeting with teachers and students of Baku Slavic University, APA reports. The President said much attention is paid to the development of humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan and added that agreements on cooperation and partnership were signed between Volynsk province of Ukraine and Ganja, between Dnepropetrovsk and Baku and between Odessa and Baku and document on establishing fraternal relations was signed between Ilichevsk and Garadagh district of Baku during the visit.
Viktor Yushchenko said Ukraine supports Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity.
â€œOur position on Nagorno Karabakh problem is principal. We know very well how important it is to protect the countryâ€™s territorial integrity,â€ he said.
The President familiarized himself with the university and presented the jubilee publication of Leyli and Majnun by Nizami Ganjavi in the Ukrainian language to the university.
