Artificial intelligence and climate change are the main challenges facing supreme audit institutions today, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vugar Gulmammadov, said during a joint meeting of the ASOSAI and ARABOSAI organizations held in Baku, APA reports.

He noted that these challenges directly affect the functions of supreme audit institutions in terms of both technological transformation and socio-economic stability.

“The integration of artificial intelligence into audit processes will significantly increase audit efficiency through big data analysis and the establishment of preventive control systems. It is now clear that these technologies bring significant changes not only for the private sector but also in public administration and public services,” said Gulmammadov.

He emphasized that the risks related to climate change affect not only the environment but also social and economic stability. Therefore, the participation of supreme audit institutions in the implementation and monitoring of global climate initiatives is of great importance. Gulmammadov added that Azerbaijan’s hosting of COP29 demonstrates the country’s active support for international initiatives in this area.
