"As of September 30 this year, the volume of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) active portfolio in Azerbaijan decreased by 0.6% or 6 million euros compared to the previous month, amounting to 948 million euros. The number of active projects implemented was 35," the EBRD told APA-Economics.
It was noted that 89% (€842 million) of the portfolio consists of investments in sustainable infrastructure, 5% (€49 million) in industry, commerce, and agribusiness, and 6% (€56 million) in investments in financial institutions. In September, the volume of the bank’s operational assets in the country increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month, reaching €703 million.
Thus, to date, the EBRD has invested a total of €3.661 billion in Azerbaijan through 200 projects, of which €3.369 billion has already been disbursed by borrowers. The private sector’s share in total investments accounted for 37%.
