The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will make its next decision on the interest rate this week, on October 22, APA-Economics reports, citing the CBA.
The Central Bank most recently lowered the interest rate from 7.25% to 7% on July 23 — for the first time in a year. In its last decision, on September 10, the interest rate was kept unchanged.
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has stated that the next decision regarding the parameters of the interest rate corridor will be made based on changes in actual inflation, the macroeconomic forecasts to be updated in October, as well as the dynamics of external and internal risk factors. While updating the forecasts, the expected dynamics of government expenditures for the remainder of 2025 and for the year 2026 will also be taken into account.
Recall that the Netherlands' largest financial group, ING, announced at the beginning of August that it forecasts the Central Bank of Azerbaijan will keep the interest rate unchanged over the next year. "Fitch Solutions," on the other hand, believes that the CBA may lower the interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to 6.75% on either October 22 or December 10.
