”We disagree with the opinion that there is a decrease in non-oil revenues," said Finance Minister Samir Sharifov during the discussion of the draft law "On the 2023 State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan" at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee for Economic Policy, Industries, and Enterprising, APA reports.
The minister said that the current expenses have increased: "This is also correct. This is the reality and we see it. Compared to 2017, our current expenses have increased by 11 billion manats. At the same time, we must take into account the changes that occurred during this period. In 2019, we have significantly increased social spending. All of these directly affected the growth of those costs. Most of those increases - more than 5 billion manats - are related to wages and other social costs. Only in the area of healthcare costs, our expenses have increased by 2.2 times."
