Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan increased by nearly 10%

As of September 1, 2025, the number of employees working on a wage basis in the country's economy was 1,764.9 thousand people, of whom 855.3 thousand worked in the state sector of the economy and 909.6 thousand in the non-state sector, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.

19 percent of those working on a wage basis were engaged in trade; repair of vehicles, 18 percent in education, 13.9 percent in industry, 8.6 percent in providing health and social services to the population, 6.8 percent in construction, 6.3 percent in public administration and defense; social security, 4.2 percent in transport and warehousing, 3.9 percent in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.3 percent in financial and insurance activities, and 14.6 percent in other sectors of the economy.

In January-August 2025, the average monthly nominal wage of employees working in the country's economy increased by 9.7 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 1093.8 manat. The average monthly nominal wage was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communications, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as transport and warehousing sectors of the economy.
