Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan increased by more than 9%

In January–June 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of wage-employed workers in the country’s economy increased by 9.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 1,097.3 manats, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.

According to the information, the average monthly nominal salary was higher in the sectors of mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as transportation and storage.

As of July 1, 2025, the number of wage-employed workers in the country’s economy amounted to 1,770.8 thousand people, of whom 864.2 thousand were employed in the public sector and 906.6 thousand in the non-public sector.

Of the wage earners, 18.8% were employed in trade and repair of motor vehicles, 18.3% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and social services, 6.7% in construction, 6.3% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.2% in transportation and storage, 3.9% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.3% in financial and insurance activities, and 14.8% in other sectors of the economy.
