Net domestic bank assets drops by 12% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of February 1, the net domestic assets in Azerbaijanâ€™s bank system stood at AZN 3 914.6 million, up 85.5% from a year ago.
However, the figure fell by 12.2% or AZN 543.7 million in January while monthly growth rate was AZN 150.4 million on average in 2008. That is to say, the decline in January exceeds three-month growth.
The drop in net domestic assets happens against a backdrop of a rise in net foreign assets. As of February 1, net foreign assets in the bank system grew by 1.5% in January to AZN 4 094.8 million.
