Azerbaijan-based cbank net domestic assets grew by 40% last year

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of January 1, the net domestic assets owned by Azerbaijan-based commercial banks stood at AZN 5 679.7 million, up 39.8% or AZN 1 61.9 million on a year ago.
The National Bank of Azerbaijan said domestic loans accounted for 6 894.6 million of the net domestic assets.
The growth in domestic loans was 48.3% given that net domestic assets grew by 39.8% in 2008.
As of January 1, the commercial banksâ€™ net foreign assets reached minus AZN 1 077 million, up 64.2% on a year ago.
