Asian Development Bank extends Vice-President term by two years

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Directors has extended the term of Vice-President Lawrence Greenwood, Jr. by two years to 27 February 2011.
Mr. Greenwood, 56, previously Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, US Department of State, took office at ADB on 28 February 2006 on a three-year term.
As Vice-President for Operations 2, Mr. Greenwood is responsible for the work of ADB’s East Asia Department, Southeast Asia Department, Pacific Department, and Central Operations Services Office.
He is one of four vice-presidents serving under ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda, the others being Ursula Schaefer-Preuss (Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development), Bindu Lohani (Finance and Administration), and Xiaoyu Zhao (Operations 1).
The Asian Development Bank is a multilateral development bank, owned by 67 member countries. ADB’s main instruments for developing its member countries are policy dialogue, loans, equity investments, guarantees, grants and technical assistance.
