UniBank sees 7% growth in assets

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. As at January 1, Azerbaijan-based UniBank posted its assets at AZN 417.563 million, up 7.2% on a year ago.
The bank said loan portfolio went up 16.5% to AZN 319.247 million, deposit portfolio increased by 0.3% to AZN 123.671 million, total equity capital jumped by 27.5% to AZN 64.064 million and share capital stood at AZN 15 million.
Consumer lending grew by 11.5% to AZN 137.057 million.
For 2008, revenue increased by 82.5%, year-over-year, to AZN 78.443 million and expenditures increased by 82.2% to AZN 69.379 million.
Profit surged by 84% to AZN 9.064 million and net profit rallied by 83.5% to AZN 6.687 million.
The bank established 10 branches, 22 bureaus of exchange, 6 ATMs and 48 POS terminals over the past year. PR and marketing expenses reached AZN 778.011 million and investment made AZN 2.102 million.
UniBank operates 22 branches, 22 bureaus of exchange, 57 ATMs and 231 POS-terminals across the country.
UniBank is owned by the EBRD (15.15%), DEG Investment Corporation (8.33%), legal entities (0.9%) and individuals (75.62%).
