World financial crisis would slow the growth of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Belarus

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. The world financial crisis would slow the growth of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Belarus to $500 million, said, the Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Nikolai Pazkevich.
According to him, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $110 million in 2008, up 3 times on the years 2006-2007.
â€œThere was a 22% year-on-year increase in imports from Belarus to Azerbaijan while exports from Azerbaijan to Belarus jumped by 90% last year,â€ he added.
According to the ambassador, the volume of imports from Belarus to Azerbaijan is predicted to increase by 15% and exports from Azerbaijan to Belarus by 1.5 times in 2009.
He added that Azerbaijan supplied Belarus with vegetables, citrus fruits and other foods, Belarus exported to equipment, furniture, household equipment, canned goods, etc Azerbaijan.
