Azerbaijanâ€™s banking system sees ROA declining

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of January 1, Return on Assets (ROA) stood at 2.2% for 2008 in Azerbaijanâ€™s banking sector, said the National Bank of Azerbaijan.
The figure was 0.4% lower on a year ago. However, the ratio is higher than that of developed banking systems of Kazakhstan and Russia.
This gives us the ratio to find how much a bank derives from each amount of assets they control. This also displays how a bank is managed.
That is to say, banks derive 2.2 kopecks from each manat of assets.
By world practice, ROA is satisfactory in Azerbaijanâ€™s banking sector.
