Azerbaijan posts 54% growth in bank assets

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of January 1, total assets owned by Azerbaijan-based banks stood at AZN 10 273.46 million, up 54.3% on a year ago. The National Bank of Azerbaijan said loans lent to customers account for AZN 6 816.85 million or 66.35% of assets, compared to 65.3% a year ago.
Correspondent accounts made up 9.34%, investments 7.75%, cash assets 4.48%, loans to financial sector 4.04% and other assets 8.04% of the total assets.

Obligations accounted for 83.41% or AZN 8 568.59 million of the bankâ€™s total liabilities.
Deposits accounted for 39.47% or AZN 055.09 million of obligations. The total bank capital reached AZN 1 704.87 million, accounting for 16.59% of liabilities.
