Greek finance minister resigns

BakÄ± - APA-Economics. Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos has announced that he resigns, because he plans to become chairman of the socialist party PASOK, Interfax reported.

Venizelos announced his decision only a few days after Greece reached a debt restructuring agreement with private investors.

PASOK chairperson will be elected on Sunday, 18 March. Evangelos Venizelos is the only candidate for the post, which will practically guarantee his election.

There have been no reports so far as to who will be at the helm of the Finance Ministry.
