Azerbaijan sees rise in monetary base in January

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of March 1, 2012, the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 7,825.2 mln, up 28.3% or 1,725.7 mln compared to previous year, told the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The monetary base increased by 3% or AZN 223.7 mln in February, 2012.

Note that, the monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
