RSI index increases in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Retail Sales Index (RSI) was 101.4% in August, 2011, up 1.86% compared to April. This figure was 99.6% in July, 97.1% in June, 118.3% in May, 82.3% in April, 115.9% in March, 94.5% in February, 73.5% in January, APA-ECONOMICS reports quoting the State Statistics Committee.

RSI is calculated as a comparison between the sales value and previous monthâ€™s indexes. The Retail Sales Index was AZN 1,325.5 mln in August, AZN 1,307.8 mln in July, AZN 1,312.8 mln in June, AZN 1,348.2 mln in May, AZN 1,139.6 mln in April, AZN 1,384.4 mln in March, AZN 1,156.9 mln in February, AZN 1,224.1 mln in January.

This growth is associated with RSI significant increase in the growth rate of retail sales in the monthly comparison. The fact that the April index was more than 100% indicates that retail sales this month was more than last month.
