Azerbaijan sees sharp rise in negative balance on income

Central Bank of Azerbaijan says $ 2 993.5 mln or 88.5% of this was payments from Azerbaijan, $ 389.2 mln or 11.5% - income related revenue.

Thus, the negative balance in BoP on income made $ 2 604.4 mln in Q1, 2011, up 51.6% compared to a year.

Most of payments from Azerbaijan are repatriation of incomes of foreign investors of international oil-gas consortiums ($ 2 504.6 mln), wages for non-residents ($ 71 mln) and paid interests for using the foreign credits ($ 91 mln).

Totally, 98.3% or $ 2 560.5 mln of negative balance on income belonged to oil-gas sector, AZN 43.9 mln or 1.7% - to other spheres. Oil-gas sector’s payments exceeded the incomes by 566 times.
