Azerbaijan’s budget surplus up 53%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s state budget revenue was AZN 1 632 300 for January-February, down 11.1% from a year ago, said the State Statistical Committee.

According to the report, the budget expenditure reached AZN 1 081 600, down 21.4% from a year ago. Budget surplus made AZN 550,7 million, accounting for 4.4% of GDP. Budget surplus is up 53% from a year ago.


Tax incomes came 34.6% from VAT, 38.9% from corporate profit tax, 9% from income tax, 8.3% from excise tax and 3.4% from foreign economic activities.

Expenditure went AZN 402.8 mln (41.8%) to investments in the national economy, AZN 216.3 mln (20%) to social protection and security and AZN 140.5 mln (13%) to education and healthcare.

Salaries earned by the population accounted for 38.8% (AZN 419.2 mln) of the total expenditure.
