Azerbaijan sees monetary base up

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-ECONOMICS. As of April 1, 2010 the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 4 902 million, up 32.4% or AZN 1 199.9 million compared with a year ago, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Also, money stock increased by 5.2% or AZN 243.9 million in March, 2010.

The monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
