World Bank quadruples investment in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The World Bank basic capital investment in Azerbaijan was 27 752.9 thousand AZN in January-February, 2010.
The World Bank investment was increased for 3.7 times in compare with the similar period of previous year, the State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics. The World Bank share in the foreign investment was 9%.
Azerbaijan has established its cooperation with the World Bank since 1992. It provided Azerbaijan with $2.2 billion financial assistance in the past period. The World Bank is funding the projects of cleaning of oil-polluted territories of Absheron peninsula, railway trade, accountancy in corporative and public sectors, reconstruction of highways, modernization of financial system, water supply and sewerage services and etc.
