Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev receives EBRD President

Baku - APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the delegation headed by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Thomas Mirow on March 16. Azerbaijani President expressed his satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and EBRD, APA reports. Aliyev also noted that several successful projects had been realized with this organization. Sharing his views on successful mutual cooperation, the head of state highly estimated the financing of joint projects in private sector along with state structures in spite of 2009 financial crisis. The president expressed confidence that Mirowâ€™s visit would serve the further extension of cooperation.

Mirow said he was committed to cooperation with Azerbaijan. Speaking about the capital invested in Garadagh Cement Plant last year, Mirow underlined that it was one of the biggest investments directed to the private sector. He also noted that EBRD realized successful cooperation with the banking sector of Azerbaijan. The guest said that EBRD is interested in continuation of cooperation in energy sector of Azerbaijan.
