Insurance premium collection reaches AZN 19 million in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijan-based insurers earned AZN 18.92 million in premiums during January.

The Ministry of Finance said insurers paid AZN 2.87 million for insurance claims.

Premiums from life insurance stood at AZN 64 796, premiums from non-life insurance at AZN 16.806 million and premiums from compulsory insurance at AZN 2.051 million.

Insurance claims were increased by 3.6 times, 17.7 times and 1.3% for the above three categories respectively.

Premiums most came from health insurance, motor insurance and aircraft insurance.

Payment most went to motor insurance, health insurance and military servicemen compulsory insurance.

There are 28 insurance companies in Azerbaijan.
