Positive balance of Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign trade turnover jumps in January

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“APA. Positive balance of Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign trade turnover was 1 064 248.4 thousand USD in January, 2010, which jumped for 6.5 times in comparison with relevant period of last year, State Customs Committee told APA.

Volume of trade operations with 99 countries reached 1 791 906.2 thousand dollars. In the period of report, $1 428 077.3 thousand goods were exported and $363 828.9 thousand â€“ imported to the country. 41.7 tons of disinterested aid ($3 440.1 thousand) entered into the country via international organizations.

Volume of export operations was double higher than previous year and import increased for 1.4 times in January, 2010.

88.52 % of the export was oil crude, 5.99 % -oil products and 26.02 % of the import was machinery, electrical equipments and their spare parts, 14.29 % - transport means and their spare parts and 17.27 % - foods.

1 874 legal and physical entities were involved in foreign trade operations in the period of report. 95.84 % of foreign trade operations were conducted by public c sector and 3.74 % - by private sector, including 0.42 % - physical entities. These figures were relevantly 33.09%, 60.61% and 6.30 % in import operations.
