Azeri banks post 37% rise in borrowings from financial sector

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of January 1, loans and deposits Azerbaijan-based commercial banks took from the financial sector totalled AZN 4 447.88 million, up AZN 1 212.51 million or 37.1% from a year ago, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Central Bankâ€™s loans contain the major share of this growth.

Over the past one year, centralized loans increased by AZN 1 086.4 million, while foreign loans decreased by AZN 125.2 million.
