Azerbaijan sees sharp drop in foreign trade surplus

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with 137 nations during the past one year totaled $20.8 billion down by 2.6 times from a year ago, including exports of $14.7 billion and imports of $6.1billion, said the State Statistical Committee.

The trade surplus was $8.6 billion.
As compared to the same period a year ago, exports 3.2-fold, imports 15.3% and surplus 4.7-fold.

The country did 53.3% of the trade with Europe, 32.1% with Asia, 13.5% with Americas, 1.1% with Africa and 0.1% with Oceania.

The country’s main trade partners in imports and exports included Italy (18.8%), the United States (9.7%), Russia (8.7%), France (7.1%), Israel (6.3%), Turkey (4.9%), Taiwan (3.3%), Ukraine (3.3%), Germany (3.1%), China (3%), Canada (2.9%), Indonesia (3.2%), United Kingdom ( 2.1%), Malaysia (2.3%), Georgia (2.2%), Spain (1.6%) and others (17.5%).
