Nakhchivan posts GDP above $1 billion for the first time

Nakhchivan. Nijat Aliyev â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Nakhchivan Autonomic Republic has posted its GDP exceeding USD 1 billion for the first time history, said the local statistics committee.

â€œGDP grew by 21% from AZN 796 million in 2008 to AZN 973 million ($1 211 million) at the end of 2009,â€ said the statement.

GDP per capital increased by AZN 377 to AZN 2 435.
