Azerbaijan posts 17% year-on-year rise in loan lending

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-ECONOMICS. As of January 1, Azerbaijanâ€™s financial system saw a 17.4% year-on-year surge in loan lending to AZN 8 407.5 million, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

According to statistics, loaning grew by AZN 1 244.3 million from a year ago despite the impact of global financial crisis.

Lending grew by 4.3% or AZN 342.9 million in December.

Loaning on energy, chemical and natural resources sectors rose 1.8 times to AZN 1.522 billion, the share of these sectors went up to 18.1% from 11.9%.
