UniLeasing posts 28% rise in contracts

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev – APA-Economics. As of January 1, Azerbaijan-based UniLeasing Company posted its leasing portfolio at $31.5 million, down 16.2% from a year ago.
The company said in total over AZN 11 million worth of 792 sets of equipment and facilities have been leased out on 281 contracts during 2009. The number of leasing contracts spiked 27.9% last year.
Since its inception, the company has to date concluded 959 contracts worth of AZN 68 million in total.
Leasing portfolio went 26% to production, 23% to contraction sector, 16% to consumption, 13% to trade, 10% to transport, 3% to medical sector and 9% to other sectors.
UniLeasing, owned by UniBank, has been in operation since 2004.
