Azerbaijan industrial production index rises in December

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s industrial production index (IPI), a measure of real production output, reached 110.1% in December, compared to 107% in November and 103.1% in October, according to APA-Economics calculations on data released by the State Statistical Committee.

This index accounts for the bulk of the variation in national output in value terms over the duration of business cycle, i.e. industrial output for December (AZN 2.4 billion) divided by industrial output for November (AZN 2.18 billion).

The State Statistical Committee said AZN 22.2 billion worth of industrial output and services were produced during 2009, up 8.6% on a year ago.
