Purchasing power index remains steady in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s State Statistical Committee announced that population purchasing power index reached 1.41 for the full year of 2009.

In simple words, purchasing power index describes sum of all net incomes available for buying goods and services. This index is negative when it is below 1 or sum of all net incomes are not sufficient to purchase goods and services.

The rise indicates that sum of net incomes increase and sum of expenditure for goods and services decrease.

According to statistics, the purchasing power index was 1.41 points in January-April, 1.43 in January-May, 1.46 in January-June, 1.48 in January-July, 1.54% in January-August, 1.43% in January-September and 1.42 in January-October.
