Azerbaijan’s budget surplus down 9%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s state budget revenue was AZN 8.9 billion for January-November, down 5.3% from a year ago, said the State Statistical Committee.

According to the report, the budget expenditure reached AZN 7.9 billion, down 4.8% from a year ago. Budget surplus made AZN 1 billion, accounting for 3.5% of GDP. Budget surplus is down 9% from a year ago.

Tax incomes came 40.2% from VAT, 29.8% from corporate profit tax, 12% from income tax, 6% from excise tax and 5.6% from foreign economic activities.

Expenditure went 40.1% to investments in the national economy, 12.7% to social protection and security and 16.6% to education and healthcare.

Salaries earned by the population accounted for 32.4% of the total expenditure.
