AtaBank to join new international payment system

AtaBank to join new international payment system

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan-based AtaBank will complete its membership process with MasterCard international payment system in 2010, said Teymur Akhundov, plastic cards offier of the bank.

According to him, the delay in membership was caused by the global financial crisis.

"Now the crisis is coming down. All issues related to the membership process have been addressed. The only issue is the certification which will be solved in this year,â€ he added.

AtaBank became an associated member of VISA in 2004, and a principal member in 2006.

AtaBank, part of AtaHolding Group, was established in 1993. It operates 17 branches across the country.
