Asian Development Bank to send a transport project mission to Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will send a delegation on mission to Baku to get acquainted with the progress of ADB-funded transport projects in the country.

The ADB Office in Baku said the delegation will have meet with the relevant authorities in Azerbaijan, get familiarized with the resettlement process along the Masally-Astara Highway and selection of a contractor.

Out of the $500 million facility, for Phase 1 the ADB allocated $200 million, while the Azerbaijani government - $49 million for upgrading the Masally-Astara highway.

The feasibility study of the project prepared by the US Terra Company envisions constructing a new four-track road in parallel to the existing highway.
