Azerbaijan to join International Microfinance Conference in Egypt

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan Microfinance Association will participate at the meeting of the international board of the Small Enterprise Education and Promotion (SEEP) Global Microfinance Network to be held in Egypt on February 3-4.

Jala Hajiyev, CEO of the Association, said the event will be joined by representatives from 9 countries including representatives from microfinance associations of three countries - Egypt, Ethiopia, and Azerbaijan.

The meeting will discuss performance and results in 2009 and targets in 2010.

The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Baku in 2011.

Azerbaijan became a member of SEEP in 2002.

Established in 2001, Azerbaijan Microfinance Association joins 14 of 16 microfinance organizations in the country.

Formed in 1985, the SEEP Network is â€œan association of 67 international non-governmental organizations that support microfinance and micro- and small-enterprise development programs around the world.â€
