IFC’s investment portfolio for Azerbaijan tops $148 million

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. The International Finance Corporationâ€™s (IFC) investment portfolio for Azerbaijan has reached $148 million, said IFCâ€™s PR Specialist in Baku Rasmina Gurbatova.

According to her, the portfolio was diversified to the production sector (13%) oil and gas sector (16%), financial sector (71%).

"As part of cooperation Azerbaijan since 1995, IFC has to date invested more than $450 million in 43 projects in Azerbaijan and participated in 9 advisory programs,â€ she added.

According to her, the IFCâ€™s new investments totaled $14.5 billion in fiscal 2009, helping channel capital into developing countries during the financial crisis.
