Azerbaijan sees three-fold drop in foreign trade

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with 136 nations during January-October totalled $16.5 billion, down more than three-fold from a year ago.

Exports made $11.5 billion and imports $5 billion, said the State Statistical Committee.


The trade surplus was $6.5 billion.
As compared to a year ago, exports dropped by nearly four-fold, imports 15.3% and surplus 6-fold.

The country did 53% of the trade with Europe, 32.7% with Asia, 13.1% with Americas, 1.1% with Africa and 0.1% with Oceania.

The country’s main trade partners in imports and exports included Italy (18.6%), the United States (9.5%), Russia (9.2%), France (6.8%), Israel (5.3%), Turkey (4.9%), Taiwan (4.2%), Germany (3.3%), China (2.9%), Ukraine (2.9%), Canada (2.7%), Indonesia (2.6%), United Kingdom ( 2.6%), Malaysia (2.6%), Georgia (2.3%) and others (19.4%).
