New processing center to be set up in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-ECONOMICS. Azerbaijan-based Royal Bank will commission its own processing center in January 2010.

Farid Hasanov, the bankâ€™s officer for plastic cards, said the requirement software has been procured and is being deployed.

â€œNew equipment from VISA and MasterCard will be installed by December 10. Then, the processing center will be run on test mode,â€ he added.

The processing center will be capable of handling operations on more than 1 million plastic cards a month.

There are currently three card processing centers in Azerbaijan - MilliKart, AzeriCard and Kapital Bank processing centers.
