Azeri banksâ€™ interest margin is 6-7%

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. The interest margin for commercial loans and deposits was 6-7% in Azerbaijan, said the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Net interest margin is a measurement of the difference between the interest income generated by banks and the amount of interest paid out to lenders, for example on deposits.

Interest margin in the national currency is 5.67% while the measure of the gap is 6.82% for loans and deposits in foreign currencies, compared to 5.68% and 4.48% respectively a year ago.
