Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said one of the main reasons for the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov was the failure to implement the mobilization reform at the required level, citing sources within the ruling Servant of the People faction, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

According to the report, Zelenskyy told lawmakers during a meeting that the Ministry of Defense must operate more effectively and that the confrontation between the ministry and the Armed Forces leadership must come to an end.

According to the president, Fedorov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi had different visions for the development of the defense sector.

"They live in two different worlds. Mykha wants to digitize the entire system and build it around technology. The military simply wants to be heard. They ask for the procurement of certain types of weapons, but he refused and instead funded other areas. They were no longer listening to each other," Zelenskyy said.

The president also expressed dissatisfaction with Fedorov's failure to implement the mobilization reform he had promised.

"If Putin announces general mobilization on September 23, no one will have time for jokes or digital reforms anymore. We must resolve the mobilization issue by that date," Zelenskyy said.

According to the sources, the head of state believes that, given the possibility of further escalation by Russia, Ukraine must eliminate the problems in its mobilization system as quickly as possible.

It should be noted that the Verkhovna Rada has approved Fedorov's dismissal and is considering the appointment of a new defense minister.
