Baku – APA. Turkey’s army conducted late Sunday evening an anti-PKK operation in northern Iraq, neutralizing ten terrorists, local newspaper Milliyet reported.
On September 10, the Turkish troops detected about 40 PKK terrorists that tried to secretly cross the border from northern Iraq to the Turkish province of Sirnak, the newspaper wrote.
At about 3:00 am Sept. 11, nearly 600 Turkish soldiers crossed the border into Iraq and advanced 4 km deep into the Iraqi territory. As a result of the operation, 10 PKK terrorists were killed, a heavy machine gun and a lot of ammo were seized by Turkish soldiers.
